| After living in New York City for three years, founder Dante Beatrice Pauwels observed that women were walking around like pack mules with a chic designer handbag in one hand, a satellite bag stuffed with gym clothes, and often yet another carrying a fluffy pup, or office papers. Well, thought Dante, if we’re sherpas, we may as well be chic sherpas. The inspiration for Dante Beatrix was born and the company launched in 2003.
