| Kistner Supply Publishing Company is named in honor of my maternal great-grandparents, who in 1925 opened Kistner Supply Co. in a small central Florida town. John Deibert Kistner and Mildred Grimm Kistner had moved to Zolfo Springs, Florida from North Tonawanda, New York, with their three young daughters. Kistner Supply Co. catered to the locals who were raising livestock and farming the open land. My great-grandparents worked hard and through the years adjusted their business to meet the needs of their customers. During the depression many customers paid their bills with produce or livestock, if at all.
Their high standards, including hard work and perseverance, were passed on to my grandmother, Ernestine, who in turn instilled those values in the raising of my mother. Finally, that way of life was passed along to me. For that I will always be grateful.
